The article is about electricity and power supply problems but I am not going to talk about the common technical things that most article introduce to the world about cut off policy in Indian villages . It’s the story of day to day life from a small town in Uttar Pradesh .The people who are living in cities do have any idea about how these people struggle to live there life, No they don’t. Let’s have a look on it.
 
Timings – If we talk about the timing, here is no time. On paper the order given by the government is 12-6 in night and 10-2 in day .we can count on fingers it’s only 10 hours. 

  A good timing set for towns to shine India?

 A time that can help students to excel in studies.   Really??

A time in which people can sleep peacefully. Are they??

Questions are many but the answers are none. How in 10 hours a town can develop to its peak. But the question is whether the power supply is being delivered to this town or not .The answer is no. it’s hardly 5-6 hours the town is getting electricity from the Indian government.

Internet – People say that internet is the next future of development. People talk about home based business. People talk about online shopping, online tickets, and online studies but are it possible to have all this without electricity. Yes the town has plenty of laptops and computers but the people don’t have any electricity to use them and all these are show case.

Studies - Country wants to make every child an educated personality but on what scenario all are talking about all this. When at 12.00 light comes in the night most of the students already fall in sleep and at 6.00 when they open their eyes they find again fan and bulbs switched off. How a student can concentrate on studies in such a hot summer. When at 2 they come to home again they don’t find any electricity serving them.

Sleeping habits – If I say that the citizens from the town has no right to sleep. I am not in wrong direction that’s the right of talking. The scene is people wait till 12 for the light and after 12 they struggle with its voltage and cutoff problems. They don’t get enough voltage and neither gets enough continuity such that they can sleep peacefully.

Shopkeepers- Shopkeepers are the most harassed people inside this town. Without electricity most of their business doesn’t work or they find themselves in a huge loss if any extra resources are arranged such as generators and inverters. From morning till evening they sit in the same shop without any hope of electricity and when they come to home they even don’t get a proper sleep. Is this shinning and developing India?

There are lot of problems related to the small towns some don’t have even railways in 21^st century and still there whole transportation is being done by the trucks and  buses. Electricity is the still dreams for them. Country is developing the cities to more high-tech level. 

True dreams and passion! Do they exist in real world or not? Yes they exists .They exists to chase dreams, to follow passions, to live extraordinary life, to tell stories, to give success secrets, to generate examples, to set targets, to make guidelines.

 The professionalism inside the country is more dominated by doctors and engineers. Parents never wants to see serving their son/daughter as a sports person, as a designer, as a writer, as a poet, as a lawyer, as a traveler e.t.c. they want to set a life for their son/daughter as an engineer or doctor so that they should have some respect in the society but the time starts changing slowly from last few decades. Children observed the environment very carefully and started building dreams around them. Now they want to follow the dreams, they want to live the passion inside them.

An example from my life - I struggled in class 9^th after changing my school from up board to CBSE. It was not the simple struggle but struggle of words, where everything changed from Hindi scripts to the English. I was very weak in English at those days even its very hard for me to pass the exams it may be the unit tests. In final exams just manage to get exact passing marks 40 but my burning desire to do something make me forced to learn this language and that was the force that converted this 40 to 75 in boards  .

 It was the year 2010 just after the class 12^th; I was confused regarding my career options. I want to study technology; I want to convert the creativity inside me into the real world. I didn’t know how it can be done as the creativity in earlier days I had expressed through paintings, through Hindi poetry, through participating in Hindi speech and debates but as I had to choose something. I had chosen Computer Science & Engineering in B.tech although many suggested go for Civil or Mechanical Engineering they are core branches, you will be going to struggle in CSE but my mind said no take this and I opted this as my career. The decision was perfect and yes I am chasing my dreams some are fulfilled already some will be going too fulfilled soon. As part of placements I am already placed in TCS.

I hadn't told the story to talk about me but to feel the generation that if anybody is following his dreams, it must be follow till the end. If anybody is making the career in his/her passion, it always forces to perform best in one’s field. The person never feels tired at any point while following his/her passion and it always motivates the person to work for longer time even the person never feel it work ever.

In my journey I had seen many people who are following their dreams living their passion by fighting with the parents, friends or relatives. They are writers, poets, designers, journalists, lawyers, entrepreneurs and businessmen most important they all are on a path of success now and the same people praising them for following their passion for what they were fighting 4 years back.

The hand pulled him towards back. Samar was astonished and terrified both at the same time. He was unaware about the fact that just few second before he was going to fallen on a road from the boundary on which he was relaxing. It was the guard who saved his life while rounding the hostel in night.

He scolded Samar-

What are you doing here?

Samar was speechless and by stammering sir I am ... I am... I am... Watching the starts.

Guard - Is it a way to watch the stars? Don’t you know that roaming outside in the night is prohibited here?

Samar – How can any authority prohibit seeing the environment? It is only the night when I can watch this beautiful sky with amazing stars and this lovely moonlit. The silence around me where nobody can disturb me with any kind of noises.

Guard – Had I not came on time you were not here.

Samar – Oh thanks but I want to be here.

Guard checked the time its 4 a.m.

Come with me, I am going to complaint about this incident to the warden.

Suddenly Samar got his sense. Oh, sorry, sorry.

I will never come here again neither in the day nor in the night. Please don’t tell it to the warden else my parents will be informed and that will be not good for me.

Guard got emotionally attached with the Samar after encountering with his innocent face. Okay I will not tell it to the warden or anybody else but promise me you will never do this gain.

Samar – I had never came to here uncle (trying to build relationship with the guard) but the way walls in my room were suffocating me was unbearable. I had tried a lot of times to sleep but whenever I close my eyes I threatened by the horror of something. Whenever I tried to cover my body from the bed sheet every time i find it short of a length. I want somebody to understand my feelings but whenever I checked inside the room I was alone. I just came here to do friendship with the environment to talk with these stars.

Guard was listening patiently. He doesn't know this time somebody entered in the hostel is different with different ideologies.

OK ok but listen carefully there are set of rules in the hostel that must be follow to live peacefully here, else you will be in the trouble. Since it’s your first day I am pardoning you. Go and get ready quickly your physical instructors will be just arriving in here for your exercises and don’t ever think of doing any misbehavior in front of them. They are very strict and can punish you at an instant.

Samar was moving towards his room with heavy legs of thinking about new encounter.

A boy named Samar of age 13 was laid down in his room on the bed in the midnight. A tall personality with the dark complexion trying to cover his body inside the limited sheet. He was a boy who always dreaming about his future. He has nothing to do with his limited resources to earn livelihood. He was thinking about the evening, how his father had left him in this dark place to earn education for himself.

The darkness was around everywhere with a silent peace, he was sobbing down with tears in his eyes. He just wanted to evade from this place to sleep again with his parents but he can’t do anything. He was in a hostel where a lot of students like him struggling to go back their home. Under the guidance of warden everybody at family thinking their child to be safe but whenever the night comes Samar was threatened by the darkness and silence. 

After changing postures for many time, he stood up to open the door because silence around him making him feel like a sick person. He stood up and checked the time, it was still 2.30 a.m. and the sleep is long away from his eyes. He moved slowly towards the door and with his shivering hand he opened the door. There was a long corridor outside it where many other doors open from different rooms. He checked carefully about the presence of any other person in the corridor, finding none he moved on towards the stairs. 

Every now and then he was worried to be catch from the warden or guards but he controlled his heart and went on crossing stairs per stairs. Whenever he find any turn on the stairs , his heart starts beating fast as someone on the other side will definitely catch him. 

He kept on crossing the stairs and at last Samar was on the top of the roof. He found himself around the little cold breezes glittering stars in the sky with moonlit covering the whole roof. He was mesmerized with the beauty around him of tall building around everywhere. Some of them reflecting lights through their windows and roads were totally blanked. He just wanted to lost in the environment. He went on towards the end of the boundary and sat down on it. He checked again on the clock it was still 3.20 a.m. He starts losing his sense and it’s like he was half sleeping. Suddenly a hand from behind caught him to stop falling from boundary to the road.

It was the dark night in a monsoon season with silence all around everywhere. A little rain drenching the roads with its pure drops, nobody was there to ride a bike or a car due to the heavy water flowing on the roads like a river. I was standing alone in a corner searching for some tea stall so that I can cure myself from the cold but found nothing. I was hopeless in the midnight to get any auto rickshaw or city bus which can took me to home in this night. I was cursing the idea to stay for so long at friends home.

Everywhere I was searching someone who can help me in this hectic situation that I encountered for the first time. I sat down beneath the tree to wait for the morning; there was no hope that I could reach the home today. Neither have I had a battery in my cell phone to call my friend. After around 1 hour I started sobbing down by fearing the environment, the rainy season that I liked the most once is seems to looking like a curse for today.

Some more time passed on then at around 2 a.m. I saw some light in the middle of the road, a ray of hope started generating in my mind and it comes true when I actually saw that old person. He was a stranger but for me he was a hope of survival for the night.  As soon as I saw closer to me I stood up and asked for some help. He was an old person with a stick in one hand and torch in another. He was a wise person and judged the situation quickly. He offered me his blanket and some biscuits but I said -no politely then he talked about the weather how it changed drastically in a few hours. I was shivering at that time and also felt a little fever.

He asked about my home and how I trapped in this situation then told me about his shed few steps ahead and took me with him. He also called a doctor nearby who had given some initial medicines. I was thanking him from my heart but the way he had given his time and importance to me I still remember even today. On the next day I went away to my home thanking him.

We often find many strangers in our life but that day I got someone whom I remember till today. In an unknown city how he helped me is still one of the best memories of my college days.

I have told you in the last article  HOW TO PREPARE FOR TECHNICAL SECTION about technical section. Being strong in technical section does not guarantee your success in an interview. To come up with cloud9 performance you must have some good soft skills that can boost up your performance and put you stand different from others when it comes to final selection. There are various soft skills that you must have to concentrate on building whole personality like communication skills, writing skills, participation in group discussions, dressing style, etiquettes, habits e.t.c. In this article I am trying to focus on communication and group discussions rest all will be covered in the other articles.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS - It’s been said that whatever you express from mouth the person standing in front of you will assume your personality from that. In an Interview or in any public place try to always speak softly and gently. It shows humbleness and shows you a mature person. The language is very important to talk on; you have to judge a language for the person to speak with him/her in which he/she is comfortable with. This is not a right way to start speaking English in front of audience who prefer local language to communicate just to show off. If you are targeting an audience in a seminal hall or auditorium make sure you are speaking with confidence and on facts. Nobody likes stammering and irregular speeches, make some humor after each junction while speaking in public. It helps in making the attachment of an audience with you.

While dealing with the officials always focus on targeting communication to the only on work. They don’t expect stories from you but a direct answer or question from you to discuss on. It’s been seen that if you work well your confidence will go up and instantly you will communicate well. As far as placements concern try to start reading some few books or start participating in group discussions, increase your vocabulary to have a great discussions in future. The recruiters will like if you speak with full confidence preferably in English not in any local language. You have to present your ascent in a best way you can from yourself.

GROUP DISCUSSIONS- Most companies now a day’s started including group discussions round in recruiting process. Generally in group discussions there are about 10-15 students are taken in one round. Based on the company profile they give you a topic from themselves or it could be any general awareness discussion topic. The main thing to keep on during group discussion is 3 major roles are played by these 10-15 students.

Initiator- who starts discussion about topic. If you don’t know anything do not starts first. The one who knows will start automatically , you have to just understand what the topic is all about then wait for your turn and speak whatever you know, make sure there can be two sides positive and negative for the topic , try to stick only with one during whole of the discussion.

Concluder – who ends up the discussion with a conclusion. After listening from all the members there is a person who need to conclude it .The person will tell about the content on which the group is agreed.

Dominator – A person who keeps busy him/herself in whole of the discussion. He/she is responsible for disturbing and maintaining the discussions. If anybody is diverting from the topic, this is the person who objects and keep them back on topic also they involved in lot of noises by interfering in each other turns.

Try to become the one of the above to clear the group discussion, in term of dominator never interfere in any others turn but you can watch to correct about the right and wrong points in their turn. If you are not able to choose any of the above role. Try to talk as much as you can in your turn with better facts and ideas.
